Him & Her

·179 words·1 min

The never ending story

It never ceases to replay

Constantly yet never boring

Like routine everyday.

The poetic existence of two souls

So close yet poles apart

Constantly questioning the union

Simply playing a part.

He said, she said again and again

Crying over words spilt with no gain.

Now we sit far away

Time has flown, quite somedays

With laughter in between and tears running

I reminisce the gold old days!

I sit here looking eye to eye

But it’s not the soft brown eyes that meet mine

I sigh and gaze into the light

As the smoke takes me away to the within.

He said he said plays again and again

I want to scream into myself yes I agree

She said she said seeps in vain

And the voice pales again.

I sit here battling the dualism

In thought and in being

He called it, way back then

Labrythine and his holocene.

If only he could see me now

The same old person yet different

Still walking on a tight rope

Lurking in the grey area.
